The story of my journey is deeply rooted in my family history and personal experiences. My grandparents had to flee from India to Pakistan, and my ancestors traveled from Afghanistan to Pakistan and beyond. I am committed to fighting for justice and embracing all aspects of my identity. As someone with a learning disability, along with my students who also have disabilities, I am dedicated to enacting positive change and ensuring that all of these communities have access to the opportunities and success they deserve.lities and myself, with a learning disability, are a part that is committed to making a change and providing each of these communities with the opportunities and success they so rightfully deserve.

My lifelong goal is to create innovative technological resources for immigrants, asylees, refugees, and newcomers with disabilities. The intersections of disability, culture and migration are not just professional interests, but deeply personal to me. Currently, I am a middle school teacher teaching students who are English language learners or who have just arrived and who also have disabilities. Every day, I devise new ways to prepare them in the ways they learn best. I am dedicated to uplifting marginalized communities by any means possible, but right now, by using my creativity, language, and compassion skillset. I plan to reach this goal at a larger scale, to implement inclusive educational practices through technology for refugees within resettlement camps by working with an organization on the ground.

My measurement of success hinges on my commitment to serving and upholding authenticity within the communities with which I engage. I believe that success should not be solely defined by personal accomplishments, but rather by the positive impact I make within the diverse communities I am part of. By consistently prioritizing the needs and values of these communities, I uphold the principle of being an authentic and conscientious contributor. This approach not only fosters mutual respect and trust but also allows for meaningful and sustainable relationships to be built, thereby contributing to the overall success and well-being of the communities I serve.
